Nacho Buyer

I bought a load of stuff. I listed said stuff. One of the dolls immediately got a 0 feedback bidder on it, and I cringe. During the 5 days that the auction ran, she got 1 feedback, so I was like "Okay, MAYBE this has hope." Said bidder "won" the doll.

Day 1 - Crickets.

Day 2 - Crickets.

Day 3 (11 at night) -

Hi i’m sorry for the notice but my daughter wants a different doll, I would like to cancelz

I turn on my desktop and add her to the ever-growing blocked bidder list. I was about to just sigh and cancel and then I think to myself - this bitch has wasted 2 days in which I could have relisted the damned thing - fuck her. I should just ride this bitch til she gets an unpaid strike. Why the fuck should I let her off the hook? Fuck her and her theoretical "daughter". She had 5 days beforehand in which she could have canceled her bid as well but decided to forge on and waste my time. Meanwhile I am answering 30,000 questions from another potential buyer about said doll because she had asthma and was worried about pet dander. I don't know what it is about that doll but I am getting the feeling that she will attract a dickhead no matter what.

I had a teddy bear that got "sold" twice before it finally actually sold and now it is lost in the CA postal system...when you have a problem with an item once, it becomes a bad luck magnet.

As for the cancellation BS...

I hate that ebay lets them off the hook if they ask for a cancellation now. It's probably pointless to wait because they let people sign in as "guests" to buy shit. She'll just ditch that account and make a new one. I don't even know why feedback and rules are a thing for buyers because it's the fuckin' wild west out there - they just do whatever they want with no consequences anymore and fuck the sellers - and ebay is panicking and wondering why the stock continues to tank.

Sellers sometimes have to procure inventory. Sometimes we are paying buyer's premiums and taxes to an auction house and state.

Then when we sell, we get hit with fees and random listing "innovations" from ebay/Etsy, then have to navigate flaky buyers - there is constant time wasting, cancellations, threats to try and get discounts, some lame excuse why they suddenly don't want something and then our bank accounts get robbed of the entire amount no question asked and we're paying return shipping too! I fight it, but last year I got ripped off nearly half a mortgage payment - one item was exactly as described but ebay made me refund him and gave me lame excuses about it and the other was lost by the Italian Postal Service.

The USPS is robbing us all blind on top of it all. I am one of those sellers that takes a hit on shipping to try and keep costs low for buyers, but it goes unnoticed - I've got less than 5 stars on "shipping cost".

We pay a lot and get very little in return all because someone has had to pander to some Wall St. suits since the company went public. None of the CEOs since Whitman have had any good ideas, and it's been a sinking ship since she left. It's getting old. More and more people are returning to brick and mortar and flea markets because of it - we just don't make enough to justify listing on ebay anymore.

Etsy's offsite ads are the biggest turn-off over there - forced into a program that makes you pay nearly 30% of a sale because you are good at selling? GTFOH with that shit.

Death Dogs

Every single week for the last 4 weeks I get at least 2 deadbeat bidders per batch of crap I list. Today was a "buyer" for a teddy bear I sold. There was an obnoxious flurry of bidding over the weekend and I got the feeling. "This buyer is not going to pay" and she did not.

Instead of retracting her fucking bid, which would have given it to the second bidder albeit for less money, which I don't even care about, I just want the very large thing GONE so I can have the space back...the fucking bitch sends me a message after the auction ended whining that she had no money right now and to cancel the transaction. If you had no money, then what were you doing doubling the price on my auction a day before it ended, twat?

I reported her to ebay for "retracting a bid which negatively affected an auction" and added that bidders such as her were a waste of time and money for everybody involved and blocked her. Another one bites the dust. My blocked list is ridiculous. What I could have done and should have was let the damned thing run for 4 days and let her get hit with a non-paying strike but I wanted to offer it in a huge long shot to the second bidder in the hopes they'd still want it.

Lobster Bisque

Today with a half hour left to go on a very large antique doll, I get a rather insulting ask from a potential buyer.

In the description I photograph and describe damage to the back of an arm. This maroon asks me to discount it and add buy it now because the arm is "extensively" damaged. Bitch, I OWN the doll, I can see for myself that the damage is not extensive - it's a 1/4 hole poked into the composition, not to mention it's covered by the fucking outfit it's wearing.

A few days ago I had someone asking if the stringing was so loose that it could not be posed - I had said that it was loose in the listing! Loose means loose. I am so fucking sick of people trying to finagle discounts using things I've already described as excuses for it.

You know what, assholes? I saw the issues, I photographed and pointed them out and PRICED THE FUCKING DOLL ACCORDINGLY. Normally this same doll pulls $250-$500 - I priced this bastard at only $150ish and charged flat rate shipping which would would have killed me financially if someone on the west coast had won it. No. I will not be "discounting" it thank you very much.

I ended the fucking auction, took the fuckin' doll's clothes off and repaired it myself in 5 minutes with a small piece of milliput. Now I am going to tighten the stringing, make it a new wig with mohair yarn, style it better than the synthetic one that it has and raise the price by $50. I was willing to let it go for less because I was like "eh" about doing that stuff but now that I have cheapasses coming out of the woodwork, I'll go ahead and spend that 20 minutes and raise the damned price to what it should be.

Frosted Flakes

Pony people are the worst flakes. I'll say this time and time again. I feel like I need to make a separate account just to sell ponies because of this because it is ALWAYS ALWAYS pony people that tank feedback.

I had several for sale this week, they were doubles I happened to have in a harder to find set. I always hesitate to sell them on ebay because - pony people = asshole mentality. I nearly always have a problem with one of them on there. This time was no exception. One didn't pay for their shit, one complained about the shipping price after he won it. This chick wanted me to sell it to her directly about 4 days before it ended and I refused. I believe the neutral she left was "revenge" for not selling it to her cheaper. *sigh*

Hey can I buy this from you? The auction will end while I’m at work so I won’t be able to bid, and I’ve been wanting this pony for a while. How much were you hoping to sell her for?

I answered saying that I prefer that bidders set the price since the price varies so wildly on this set. She apparently had time to bid because she won it, and for a kind of ridiculous price. Apparently because she was an idiot and let the bidding get away from her, now she would be expecting the pony to be minty fresh. Being 16 years old and out of the box, it would not be.

No message, no nothing, just carpet bombed with a crap neutral feedback saying that an eye was scratched. I don't believe that it was, I used the magnify feature on the pictures and don't see it and did not notice it before packing it. It sat in my own collection for about a year and I never saw it, but had she taken a picture and told me about it via messages, I would have offered a small refund because I felt like she overpaid to begin with. If you're not coming out of the gate combative, I will work with you, but you come at me, or trash my feedback - you're done. So she's done. Fucking trashbag. I will be adding her to my ever growing blocked list.

The Reign Of Terror

Out of curiosity, I dropped in on ol' Judy's recent feedback left for others. Seems like she has a lot of "problems" that require sellers to "bend over backward" to correct. One was "very accommodating" IE probably doled out a partial refund to pay the asshole off because of feedback extortion. She's such a fucking bitch.

Outstanding seller. Knows her doll history, advertises honestly and goes out of her way to accommodate the buyer. Thank you.

This seller has bent over backward to correct a problem caused by the post office. I highly recommend her as a very reputable seller.

This lady is a wonderful seller. My doll was damaged in shipment (not the fault of the seller) and she bent over backward in offering to make it right in any way possible. I highly recommend such a virtuous seller.

The Man

In the past week, I have supposedly sold $230 worth of shit via eBay. The asshole that bid $200 on a doll never paid, it wound up being cancelled and I relisted immediately rather than play more games with the next two bidders.

The other two that won dolls last week did pay - both were under $20. One tanked my shipping metrics by paying, then telling me they were leaving town and not to ship until Wednesday. One just paid, no BS no instructions, just mercifully paid.

Suddenly, because they think I have $200 coming, eBay then charges me for a $69 international shipping label from last month. You know what I've got to show for $230 worth of sales? -$20.13. lol. Good ol' eBay.

Today, they helped themselves to $1.00 I supposedly owed, despite last week threatening to restrict my account over $19, that they acted like they could not just take...lol. This bullshit is stupid and annoying. I don't like weird threats to take away my selling privileges over something they can just take care of themselves. I gave them the access to that account for that very reason - why can't they just shut up and take the fuckin' fees? They took the $1 no problem.

Meanwhile, I left my Etsy shop open during the "strike" and made $200 that I actually got paid. Man, if it was not for those stupid offsite ads, I would just move everything to Etsy. Sane people that pay for shit and lower fees for the most part. I've only had two nutcases in the last 11 years that I've been there. The Patty O'Green doll lady who was pissed about getting a refund instead of getting a doll, and the weirdo that thought I switched heads on ponies.

I signed that petition for one reason and one only - Offsite Ads. I hate them. Of course, that's my nature anyway, being forced into something against my will has always rankled me.

The amount of times I took off from school and daycare - my Ma could tell you that...I don't like "The Man" telling me what I can and cannot do.

She's Like The Wind

Ol' Judy's negative disappeared like a fart in the wind this morning - RIP. 😂

I go back to her stupid original message:

I have been a seller as well.

If she was a seller that knew her shit, then she would have known not to threaten me in messages with negative feedback for "financial compensation". Dumbass. First rule of trying to get a discount, bitch, don't threaten the seller's feedback. It's called feedback extortion and is one of the reasons that eBay will remove a negative. I wasn't even worried.

I wasn't worried about her returning it either, because if it did not come back in the same condition, well, TRS can deduct up to 50% . That would have covered the shipping at least one way and then I would have just relisted what was left of it, lol. Either way, she was screwed on this deal and I knew I had her dead to rights. I think she let the low feedback fool her. I've been around the block more than once and I smell fishing for a discount verbiage a mile away. It always has the same tone. But, what it basically boiled down to was: "You weren't on the ball. In one picture you were stupid enough to let the skirt cover the hand so I could try and lie about damage to get a discount".

Calvin k-LIE-n

I have this dumb sweater I am obsessed with. I bought the first version of it at a thrift store for $1.00. It's a nice wool Calvin Klei...
